About this course
This Mental Capacity course is designed to help you to learn about the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA) and to show you how you can put the requirements into practice in your role as a health and social care worker and meet the expectations in Health and Social Care.
Health and social care workers are involved in supporting individuals with their daily living and the decisions that they make. It is important that you understand the individuals’ rights in making choices and decisions, knowing how to enable them to make informed choices and decisions.
Mental Capacity is not mandatory but an expectation of Stakeholders, including the Care Quality Commission.
It is recommended that this course is completed alongside all mandatory subjects.
